About me

This Is My Story

I am a retired Environmental Engineer who has loved photography for over 50 years.  Since retirement in 2008 I have been able to focus my energy on photography by joining the Latow Photographic Guild at The Art Gallery of Burlington in Burlington, Ontario; learning to use Photoshop Elements and Apple’s Affinity Photo for post editing; and putting what I have learned into practice.  Much of my work can be seen and purchased online at 500px, Image Conscious, and my CRB Photography Zazzle store.  I also have a coffee table photography book, entitled “Auto Oxidation” published on blurb.ca.  It is a 122 page book with 132 colour photographs of wrecked and abandoned cars, trucks, and buses.

For the last seven years I have entered the “One Day in the Life of Burlington” photography contest.  Up to 200 photographers have one specific day to shoot subjects within the city limits of Burlington.  I have been lucky enough to win a Runner Up in 2009 in the Burlington Category with “Two Sentinels”.  In 2010 and 2012 I won Best of Show with “A Windy Day” and “Dew Drop By The Park”, respectively.  In 2015 I won Runner Up in the People Category with “Reflection.”  In 2016 I won a Runner Up in the Creative Category with “Shadows.”

In 2011 I won first place in the adult category of the City of Burlington’s “What Makes Burlington Great” Art Contest with “First Skate”.  Most recently, in January 2014 I received a Certificate of Merit – 2nd Place from the Canadian Association for Photographic Art with “Easy Peel”.

I have taken photos of grand openings of art exhibits at the Art Gallery of Burlington, anniversary parties, and restaurant openings.  Please contact me if you have a photographic event in mind.  I am willing to travel in Ontario and up-state New York.
